Are your jewellery pieces nickel-free or hypoallergenic?

I have not had any issue with customers reporting a reaction to the Polymer Clay used in the work. I do coat some components (such as magnetic clasps)  with a protective product called Sensa Guard which protects sensitive skin. Wherever possible tarnish resistant artistic wire is used which as a protective coating which should minimize risk or allergy.

Pierced earring fittings can be changed for surgical steel (non allergenic) on request but please be aware that these will alter the appearance of the piece and are available only in “silver” colour. I can coat normal earring fittings with the protective layer of Sensa Guard if requested.  Please be aware that this protective layer may wear off with time and you may need to recoat with Sensa Guard or similar product.

Do you have a physical store where I can view your products?

Rennique is an online store. I have a limited selection of work available from Art Time, 203 Brisbane St, Ipswich, Qld.

Can I exchange my purchase for a different size or style?

In most cases there may not be a different size available for a particular item. Exchanges may be available in some situations. Please refer to our returns policy.

About your Wearable Art Jewellery

Are your products handmade?

All of the pieces for sale on the Rennique store are handmade in Australia by Ronita Neal, an award winning artist in Queensland.

There are usually a very small number of pieces made with each design, usually less than 20 pieces and each of these pieces will be slightly different because they are handmade or becuase I have made similar but not identical designs.

Some pieces are truely one-of-a-kind becaue the particular process used means the same combination of colour and shape cannot be reproduced exactly again.

They are designed and made using all of the knowledge gained by many years making art using various mediums.

Do you offer customisation or personalised jewellery

We may be able to accomodate some requests for customisation such as non-pierced earring fittings, change of clasp tiype ro profiding short instead of long earrings to go with a set.

Wheter these changes are possible withll depend on the design and construction of each item and wheither there is any of the original material left.

If you woud l liel to request any customisation please contact us to see if it is possible. Any customisation will incur extra costs.

Can I ask for a something to be designed and made just for me?

Any requests for personalised  custom items will require further discussion and you should be aware they will incur higher costs. Please contact us on customerservice@rennique.com to request a consultation.

How do I take care of my wearable art jewellery?

I would like you to be able to enjoy your wearable artwork for many years but you will need to take care of it, just as you would any other artwork.

This jewellery is hand made by me (Ronita). While I take care when making this work and I use good quality materials please remember that you may need to be more careful when wearing these pieces than you might be with things that are made in a factory. There is more detailed information available on my blog but the main things to remember are:

1) Please do not spray perfume or other chemical substances onto the jewellery as it may damage the surface. THe pieces are not intended to be worn while doing cleanng or other activities that might result in them being exposed to chemicals

2) If the main piece (polymer clay component) needs cleaning please use water and a soft cloth first. IF necessary use some gentle soap and a soft colth. Please do nto scrub or use abrasives ro strong chemicals.

3) While the pieces are reasonably strong it is best not to subject them to continual impact with hard surfaces (e.g, banging on a desk while working) or against sharp pbjects as this will probable result in damage tot he surface.

4) Please avoid "tugging" or pulling on the pieces (for example children pulling on the pieces or being caught in the safety belt in the car).

5) if any of the metal tarnishes (most likely metal neck ring) please clean as per general instructions for celaning tranished jewellery (least aggressive method).

6) Avoid dropping your artwork onto hard surfaces as it is possible it might break. The pieces are reasonably strong as I take care to prepare all the materials properly but there is still a chance it may break depending the design of the particular piece or the angle it hit the hard surface.

Can I request a repair for a piece of jewellery I love?

Yes we would love to help you to continue to enjoy your wearable art and we understand that sometimes you can love your jewellery to "death". Sadly, in some cases repair may not be possible but this will be assessed ona case by case basis as will the cost of any repair.

please email customerservice@rennique.com with your request, your phone number and a photo of the piece you would like to talk about. We will contact you to see if we can help.

If at some point in the future you decide you no longer want to keep your wearable artwork or you would like to see if it can be remodeled please contact us. We would be sad to think these small works of art would be thrown away.

What materials do you use in your jewellery?

I try to use only good quality materials in my wearable artworks.

THe main material used is Polymer Clay. It is a manmade modeling material made from polyvinal chloride (PVC). I use a well known brand (Sculpy Premo and Soufle) which is known for its strength and stability when prepared properly. This material is safe to work with and is safe to ewar.

Wherever possible I use tarnish resistant artistic wire when making wire components and links. I also use strong flexible stringing wire when making longer necklaces. It has 49 individual strands of wire in a clear protective coating. It is also kink resistant. For stretch bracelets I use a high quality brand of chord called Stretch Magic which is known for its strength and durability when taken on and off properly.

I try to select high quality seed beads, glass beads and other metal components but because I do not mke these componenets I cannot be sure of their durability. I sometimes coat metal components with a protective coating called Sensa Guard to protect them and the wearer but this may need to be renewed from time to time,

Can I request a specific size or colour for my purchase?

In most cases this will not be possible.

Each of the pieces available have been carefully designed and hand crafted in small quantities. The this means that in most cases the size cannot be changed without destroying the integrity of the design. In many cases it is not possible to produce the same product in a different size. If you have a particular request please contact us via customerservice@rennique.com and I will let you know if the existing piece can be modified or something similar can be made. Any alterations or modification of design will incur an additional cost.

It should also be noted that unless I can physically “fit” the piece to you personally it may not be possible to provide what you are asking for. I will do the best I can based on the information you provide.
