This pendant has a bold pattern of blue and white with multiple colours that flow in a pattern that results from complex manipulations of coloured polymer clay. It is not painted. This pendant also has a pretty design on the back. This bead is air filled and so is lighter than you expect. It also has a curved front surface to give it a pleasing shape.
It is designed to be hung from a smooth metal neck piece but can also be strung with ribbon, leather, buna cord, textiles etc The matching polymer clay bail supports the piece but also adds to its bold design.
Creating a pattern such as this one can take many steps and a great amount of time. There are many decisions made that all affect the look of the final piece. Even when the pattern has been created in the clay it must be carefully cut and prepared, shaped over a shape and then cut so as to trap just the right amount of air to make the most pleasing shape. It is then cured, sanded and finished. At any of these stages a wrong decision could ruin the piece.
